Anabelle Cruse-Bardinet
Château Corbin, Saint-Émilion

Since 1996 Château Corbin has been owned by members of the famous Cruse family from Bordeaux. Under the direction of Anabelle Cruse-Bardinet, this new ownership has further enhanced the quality of Chateau Corbin's fine wines.

The vineyards of this Grand Cru Classe château straddle the Pomerol border on the 'graves' plateau of Saint Emilion. The 31 acres of vines are planted with 80 per cent Merlot and 20 per cent Cabernet Franc vines. The winery's vintages are aged 15 to 18 months in 45 per cent new oak barrels, resulting in a rich, ripe, full-bodied wine with fineness and elegance.

Wines: Corbin (St.-Émilion, Bordeaux)

Juliette Bécot
Château Beau-Sejour Bécot, Saint-Émilion

From a 41-acre vineyard situated on Saint-Émilion's limestone plateau, Beau-Sejour Becot's blend is approximately 70 per cent Merlot, 24 per cent Cabernet Franc and six per cent Cabernet Sauvignon. Production can be as low as 4000 cases (in a tiny vintage, such as 2003), or as high as 7000 cases (in an abundant year, such as 2004).

Wines: Joanin Becot (Cotes de Castillon), Beausejour Becot (St.-Émilion),
La Gomerie (St.-Émilion)

Coralie de Boüard
Château Angelus, Saint-Émilion

Coralie de Boüard was born in 1980 and grew up in Saint-Émilion, where she lives with her parents Hubert and Corinne de Boüard at Chateau Angelus. Exposure to wine and vineyards came at an early age for Coralie. She first studied international trade and then went to the Institute of Oenology in Bordeaux to study wine. Coralie is the eighth generation of her family at Chateau Angelus, where she is now a part-owner and has been in charge of public relations since 2003. She also works closely with her father, Hubert de Boüard, a renowned oenologist, on their family property La Fleur de Boüard in Lalande de Pomerol, which they acquired in 1998. There they treat the vines and wines like a product of haute couture and provide them with a first growth treatment.

Wines: Angelus (St.-Émilion), Le Plus de La Fleur de Boüard (Lalande-de-Pomerol), La Fleur de Boüard (Lalande-de-Pomerol)

Pauline Vauthier
Château Ausone, Saint-Émilion

Pauline Vauthier is a qualified viticulturalist and oenologist and has worked for leading wineries in France and South Africa. She now works at the famed Château Ausone, which her family has owned for more than 400 years. Ausone boasts one of only two wines to receive the highest rank of Premier Grand Cru Classé (A) status in the Classification of Saint-Émilion Wine. Perched on a hillside outside the medieval walls of Saint-Émilion, Ausone has one of the most esteemed locations for making wine in all of Bordeaux. Its spectacular location is made all the more startling because of its tiny vineyard of very old vines and extensive limestone caves that house the property's wine cellar. The 7.3ha vineyard produces 55 per cent Cabernet Franc and 45 per cent Merlot, planted at 6000 plants per hectare. The average annual production is 2000 cases.

Wines: Ausone (St.-Émilion), Moulin St-George (St.-Émilion), Fonbel (St.-Émilionn)

With such an award-winning line-up of guest chefs and winemakers, the 2007 UNIFEM FWAS SNOW Benefit promises to be a gourmand's dream come true - and best of all, it's all for a very worthy cause.
